Mini Prints for Mental Health
This series was created during the #100daysProject in 2019. The project is a yearly online challenge created to encourage people to practice a new artistic skill for 100 days, and share your progress with your online community. I have only once made it all the way through the challenge once, and in 2019 I celebrated creating 72 mini prints sized 2 x 3” in size. This proved to be a big feat for me at the time as I was going through a challenging depression. During that time, I self-referred to a program through Langley Mental Health and was able to go participate in a weekly group therapy to learn coping skills such as CBT(cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT(dialectical behavioral therapy).
*I actually can’t remember now if it was 2019 or 2018, and I also participated a second time, online during covid. I continue to use these learned skills and although I am a person who lives with PDD, I have the coping skills (combined with medication) that allows me to live a relatively normal life.
With all that oversharing in mind, I will donate $5 from each mini print sold Langley Mental Health services which continues to help people through very challenging times. I know it’s not easy to talk about, and if you are struggling, please check out this link to find the equivalent service in your BC community.
