If you grew up in a rural area surrounded by trees, chances are you used to play with these!
I avoid them now because they have tiny little things that poke into your skin and are nearly invisible to pick out but are super irritating. I don't remember them bothering me as a kid but daaaaaaang, they are now! Sweet memories.
 
This piece reminds me of those times of wonder.
